Introduction
In this guide, we will be installing the Soya Spring Dampener – Strum Spring Upgrade for CRKD Les Paul Blueberry Burst and StarBar Star Power Button Upgrade mods. The StarBar can be used on both the Blueberry Burst and Tribal variants of the CRKD Les Paul Guitar Controller.
The Soya Spring Dampener mod is ONLY for Blueberry Burst models
IT DOES NOT WORK ON THE TRIBAL EDITION.
Required Tools
- T10 Screwdriver/Bit
- PH1 Screwdriver/Bit (StarBar only)
If you do not have these screwdriver/bits already, we suggest this screwdriver kit.
Soya Spring Dampener Mod Installation (Blueberry Burst ONLY)
Remove the battery from the compartment under the “bridge” cover.
Grab SSD bracket and foam piece, removing backing from foam piece, and apply to lower part of the bracket, right below the thin clip on the bracket
Remove 8 T10 torx screws on rear of guitar body
Remove 4 T10 torx screws near neck slot on front of guitar body
Lay guitar body on its front with rear facing upwards and remove the rear body shell
Remove black tape on top of spring cover and move haptic motor wire to the side
Center the Soya Spring Dampener bracket on the spring cover, hold it at a 45 degree angle, then push the Soya Spring Dampener bracket onto the spring cover. Make sure it is sturdy and secure, there should be no significant wobble or loose feeling.
Position the haptic motor wire in the slot on top of the SSD bracket, and secure it with the black tape we removed earlier.
